The pockets that matter
Annerley is the southside's honest middle ground: Queenslanders, post-war homes and quick commutes without a fashionable premium. The suburb is high and largely dry, with only marginal exposure in 2022, which sets it apart from much of the inner south. Ipswich Road carries the traffic and the older flats; the streets behind it toward Ekibin and Clifton Hill are quieter and hold the better house rents. The busway and the rail line at nearby stations make the commute genuinely fast, and that access is the practical reason tenants choose Annerley over pricier neighbours.
